Did you know that there is an estimated 50 of our neighbors in Northwest Colorado needing a kidney transplant? The wait time for a deceased kidney donor can be anywhere from 3-5 years and some times longer. Did you know there is a better way to help them? You can become a living donor and Give the Gift of Life. You might say " If I knew one of my family, friends, neighbors or community members needed a kidney I would want to help." Did you know that 70% of people on the Kidney Waiting List have not asked 1 person to consider donating, commonly referred to as, Share Your Spare? Please believe me. Asking people to donate through the Living Kidney Donor Program for a matched donor kidney or through the Kidney Paired Exchange Program is one of the hardest things I have done in my life! I am determined to speak up and find a Living Kidney Donor for myself and my 50 other NW Colorado Community Members in need.
